​Louise studied Theology and the Philosophy of Religion at the University of Exeter and in 2005 gained a doctorate in the Divinity Faculty at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Douglas Hedley.

Louise is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the British Society for the History of Philosophy, and the British Society for the Philosophy of Religion.
